b. Second Activity Introduce students to the book. Using a mind map, to understand the themes to look out for while reading. Technology: https://coggle.it/
c. Third Activity Students will work in teams to find out information about each state and use a teacher-made voice thread to post information about each state. Technology: VoiceThread
d. Evaluation Students will answer critical thinking questions after reading the book. Technology: PDF File
8. Evaluation a. Students will record a summary of one chapter that they felt was important in a character’s development and what the character learned. Technology: Voice Cast O Matic
9. Reflection: The class enjoyed reading, “The Lightning Thief”. They found the story interesting and engaging. Students enjoyed recording their voices and sharing it with each other. One improvement on the technology could be to have the class record a scene from the book as a play.
One problem faced was that some students felt the pace of the course was too slow. In the future, I will break the class into different reading abilities so that students can be engaged in the reading and be comfortable with the pace.
